 Why did you decide to start this organization?:Initially is was to get alumni band members information about FAMU Homecoming events. Then it grew into an organization that would give towards supporting FAMU Bands, its alumni and current members. What advise can you give new or aspiring organization founder?: Start with a nucleus of dedicated people who share the same ideals and excitement in building and growing the organization. What is most rewarding about running this organization?: The thanks and appreciation that the organization gets from those we have been able assist in the form of scholarships, book vouchers, time, and other financial needs. What are the most common challenges you face as the founder of this organization?: Keeping the organization fresh and viable for both young and old members alike. Having an organization that's existed for 10 years, serving members who have paritipated as far back as 60 years ago presents a few challenges, but nothing we can't overcome. Final Comments: Serving the FAMU bands and its members has been very rewarding over the years and we are looking for more opportunities to serve our students, alumni, and local community. Through donations and assistance from our friends and supporters we will be able to reach new heights as we go into 2010.
